15 Greatest Set-Pieces In Video Game History

12. I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing (Saint's Row IV)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEO7pEw4HoI Sometimes a game will be so outlandish and silly that you might find yourself questioning if that really happened. Saint's Row lives off these moments and ever since the third instalment, Volition has been on a quest to push the boundaries of comedy gaming. Saint's Row IV ups the ante considerably and even in the earliest level, there's a scene which is both psychotic and hilarious. The first section of the game sees The Boss (your player character) on a mission to stop STAG from destroying Washington D.C with a nuclear warhead. The warhead launches despite the death of leader Cyrus and in one last noble action, The Boss jumps onto the warhead in a bid to disarm it. Aerosmith's "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" plays (as a dig to the film Armageddon, perhaps) and The Boss succeeds in stopping the warhead, crashing down safely into the White House and putting his feet up in the Oval Office. If that sounds insane, get used to it - that's Saint's Row IV in a nutshell. Still, this scene is hugely memorable and will undoubtedly be entertaining people for years to come. It's silly and puerile but honestly? Who cares. Disarming a missile to Steven Tyler's beautiful croon is absurdly fun and it shouldn't be any other way.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
