Capcom have so many crossover franchises, that it's honestly hard to keep track of them all sometimes. The Capcom Vs. SNK series is one of the best out there, but it's also probably one of the least known of them all to Western gamers. That's to be expected though, the SNK series of beat 'em ups never really took off in popularity outside of Japan to the same level as the likes of Tekken or Street Fighter. That's not an indication of quality though. Capcom Vs. SNK is a great alternative to the other Capcom crossovers purely for how fundamentally different its mechanics are in comparison to its contemporaries. Through the use of a 'Ratio' system, would-be fighters are able to select up to a maximum of four team members (three in subsequent sequels), assign them a strength level and then go to war. Like the supposed deal between Capcom and Namco for Street Fighter X Tekken, The arms-length list of games released in this series were developed to and fro between both companies - making them all unique. Indeed, being great at one doesn't make you great at them all, so don't get cocky.
