15 'Horror' Video Games That Totally Failed To Scare Anyone

14. Alien: Colonial Marines

Was there ever a bigger disappointment than Alien: Colonial Marines? We were promised so very much, but what we got was a broken, barely playable shooter with an awful plot, scarcely competent AI and derivative, repetitive combat. Worst of all: the Xenomorphs, which should have been the primary threat of the game, were treated like nothing but a minor hindrance, an inconvenient rarity amidst a sea of generic soldiers and cover based shooting. In contrast with Alien: Isolation, Colonial Marines was a complete waste of the source material, and a mess of a game, haphazardly thrown together so as to make a quick buck. It certainly wasn't scary, it would have to function properly to be scary. Avoid at all costs! Play Instead: Alien: Isolation
