15 'Horror' Video Games That Totally Failed To Scare Anyone

12. Friday The 13th (NES)

Released back in 1989, Friday the 13th was a survival horror in which players took on the role of one of six camp counsellors trying to defeat Jason Voorhees. The game itself was a side-scroller that allowed players to switch back and forth between a selection of various characters, each with their own set of abilities. The goal was to survivor for three days; killing Jason if at all possible. As you can imagine, the game is pretty dated, but that€™s not why it€™s on this list. It€™s here, because it was never considered very scary, even when it first came out. Most of the game is set in broad daylight, and Jason turns up so suddenly that it€™s funnier than it is scary. There are a few caves later on, but the layouts of those areas is so confusing that you€™ll find yourself wandering around not knowing what the hell to do with yourself. Friday the 13th is considered one of the worst games ever made; it completely failed to capture the spirit of the movies, the repetitive music was infuriating and the entire experience was utterly un-frightening.
