7. Destiny: The Taken King
Speaking of Bungie and Destiny, it's taken the core fanbase of thousands seemingly months of being insulted by lacklustre DLC and meagre content offerings to finally snap. Now, although they've put away literally thousands of hours between them (the average playtime for a Destiny fan still plugging away is around the 400 hour mark) fans have demanded something more than a handful of dance moves, the occasional new area or the hint of a new weapon you can grind and obtain through sheer pot luck. At E3 Bungie debuted The Taken King, which they're now referring as "a new game" instead of just an expansion. They're touting a new "range of characters" for the story after noting they've "learnt a lot over the last 10 months" (which is putting it lightly, considering the outright disgust many have towards how the game treats its content and fans) as they continue to dangle all manner of juicy content-carrots in front of eager gamers' faces. Whether they finally nail the narrative side of things and deliver a game that's worth playing outside of experiencing the exquisite shooting mechanics is something we won't know until later, but Destiny remains one of the most divisive games in history, something indicative of a very sinister business model for larger games if other companies start doing the same (just look at Arkham Knight's DLC plans), leaving The Taken King a historic piece of content regardless.
