15 Iconic PlayStation Franchises - Ranked From Worst To Best

13. Syphon Filter

Although dormant for years now, Playstation fans all over the world share fond memories of Sony Bend's Syphon Filter series. A flagship third person shooter that really came into its own on the PS2, the franchise pushed the genre forward with its tale of modern espionage and counter-terrorism. But sadly, the series was never able to make the jump to the next generation when the PS3 launched, and as a result Sony Bend hasn't had a chance to return to this once iconic series since. At the time the franchise was so popular it inevitably led to a bit of an audience burnout, with regular releases coming out to less fanfare year after year. However, now that the team's had time to recharge - and Sony desperately need more first-party titles to call their own - there's not a better time to bring it back for a glorious PS4 resurrection.
