15 Iconic PlayStation Franchises - Ranked From Worst To Best

9. Jak & Daxter

With no reputation for creating narrative-driven adventures until this series, the expansive Jak and Daxter action games proved that the developers at Naughty Dog were more than just a one-trick pony. In fact, the time spent on the new franchise was the stepping stone Naughty Dog needed in order to go on to create the mammoth-hit Uncharted. Even then though, saying the Jak series was just an experiment would be entirely overlooking just how great these games were in their own right. It's hard to explain how much of a breath of fresh air the original title especially was at the time, but no one else was really doing anything quite as ambitious as this vast action series. But Naughty Dog knows when to step away from their properties, and as a result there probably isn't that much of a chance we'll ever see another fully-fledged Jak game again. But, like Sly Cooper, we can be content in knowing the ones we do have are the very best experiences the franchise had to offer.
