15 Iconic PlayStation Franchises - Ranked From Worst To Best
8. Wipeout
Although SCE Liverpool (formerly Psygnosis), the Sony-owned studio famous for their fast-paced arcade racer Wipeout have completed many games for the publisher since they were purchased in the early 2000s, it really was this crazy, intense series that mark them out as an excellent developer. And unlike other long-running franchises that tend to suffer a drop off in quality after the first couple of sequels, SCE Liverpool cranked out killer games in the series until its unfortunate closure in 2012. Although much of the team went on to join other development companies across Sony, the fate of Wipeout at Playstation seems uncertain in 2015 - which is a damn shame considering the cult status these games have amassed over the years.
