9. Star Fox Adventures Was Essentially A Skin Pack For Dinosaur Planet

Although it went on to become one of the Gamecube's most defining games in retrospect, the fantastic Star Fox Adventures always felt a little weird to fans of the previous titles in terms of tone, character motivations and overall feel. The reason was because what would eventually be released as SFU was Rare's original creation Dinosaur Planet - something that after Nintendo's top brass got a look, declared it bore too much of a resemblance to their established Star Fox characters. What followed was essentially a re-skin job, applying all of Nintendo's prized assets to an otherwise finished game. It kept the fantastic game engine intact, yet thanks to the Star Fox overcoat became the reason everyone questioned everything else until all was revealed over the years.
