13. Crackdown 3

Crackdown 3
Microsoft

The game that I fear might have actually been cancelled, considering the complete lack of information, buzz or even signs of life on Microsoft's part. All eyes are on E3 for the company to unveil a string of additional exclusives for their new Scorpio system, but for now all we've got to go on are some early 'promises' on Crackdown 3 gameplay... from three years ago.

To that end, C3 was supposed to utilise the Xbox One's Cloud functionality to render destructible environments both through hardware and over a solid connection, allowing for some level of particle-based city-levelling that would've been unprecedented. Factor in multiplayer and you've got an excuse for a group of friends to save citizens in style - throwing cars at criminals and punching hoodlums into the sun in the process.

Crackdown's formula was incredibly fun in its original form, only for a sequel to feel more like glorified DLC. We'll see just how worthwhile even thinking of 'more Crackdown' is when Microsoft confirm a specific date, though at time of writing it's scheduled for 2017 in general.
