15 Most Disappointing Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)
15. Batman: Arkham Origins
It seems crazy to label an Arkham game as 'disappointing' but Origins was the first game in the series to really lack a creative spark. It never really tried to do anything new or exciting; it was more of an expansion to Arkham City. Of course, another Arkham game is always something to celebrate but without Rocksteady's input (Warner Bros. Montreal developed Origins in their stead), it all felt a little too familiar - a little too repetitive. Gotham City at Christmas was still an intriguing location to explore, but without a gripping, cohesive storyline, it feels a bit lifeless. Outside of the campaign, the much-touted multiplayer mode was flat and unexciting, making it an unnecessary distraction for the series. Admittedly, Warner Bros. Montreal were facing an uphill battle to replicate the superb work done by Rocksteady with the Arkham series - Origins wasn't a bad game but it certainly didn't live up to expectations.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
