5. Dead By Daylight - The Killer

This will be the most nontraditional entry on this list, simply because for this one the "boss" is controlled by a player and not the computer. And it may be true the boss in this scenario cannot be truly defeated, it feels like an epic battle as you and your friends struggle to avoid the grasps of the killer in an attempt to escape. You can argue it's not even a boss battle, but with the odds ever so mounted in one corner that just so happens to be a psychopath hunting down innocents as they struggle to survive, it sure can have a vibe of one.

The sense of dread you can get while running away, or as the killer walks past the closet you're stuffed inside to hide is unlike any other. There's multiple killers to choose from, but no matter which one you are running away from it's just as nerve wracking. To put it in terms of a boss battle, this would feel more like a boss you defeat by solving a puzzle and not with combat.
