15 Most Hated PS4 Games So Far
2. Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare
We don't need to wait until the release date, the sheer vitriol that spilled out of anybody who ever came close to Infinite Warfare's reveal trailer was unmatched by all outside of 2016's Ghostbusters.
Yes, Black Ops III went completely off the rails by having a story about shared consciousness and wall-running soldiers, but Infinite Warfare looks like an even bigger marketing disaster waiting to happen.
I mean, on the one hand you've got the developers giving interviews and stating that "the numbers" show people really like Black Ops III, whereas the marketing team are having kittens at the sight of that dislike bar on the game's various trailers.
The end result has become pure damage control: "Get as many celebrities and pop culture things in it as possible!" seems to be the mandate, as now we've got a Call of Duty game set in space, featuring an 80s-themed zombie mode with Knight Rider, starring Kit 'Jon Snow' Harrington as the villain and Conor McGregor and Lewis Hamilton (?!) as main characters/cameos too.
If Activision don't read the tea leaves and turn the franchise back around to the old school - a la Battlefield 1 - this really could spell the end of Call of Duty (for a year or two).
