7. You Are Darth Revan - Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic
Is there any better pre-mindblow dialogue than, "You still haven't figured it out, have you?" Bioware's first turn to sci-fi after years of fantasy fare proved the genre-switch might be the best thing they'd ever do. KOTOR remains one of the best Star Wars games of all time, not to mention one of the most robust, unique, best designed level-wise and all-round enjoyable RPGs in the history of gaming. Right from the off it told a separate story from the movies, interweaving various new characters into the mix - instant fan-favourite Darth Malak rising up to be the guy you always thought would be a major player in the story. And he was, but not as the centre of a final fight or an expected all-roads-converging reveal. Instead Malak got his monologue-hat on, flipping the entire game on its head as he revealed YOU were the greatest Sith of them all, one that had been attacked during a heated battle between those and Jedi, resulting in Malak trying to usurp your leadership, only to aid the Jedi by providing a weakened body whose mind could be more easily reprogrammed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBbSbrNEatA You realised the entire game you'd been retracing steps older already worn down, due to the Jedi literally using the husk of your former self to learn all the Sith's secrets. It's a phenomenal reversal of expectation, and one of the only landmark pieces of Star Wars media that paints the Council as some potential bad guys, depending on how much you sympathise with why and what they did.
