3. Assassin's Creed: Black Flag
Although the reputation of the Assassin's Creed franchise fell off a cliff a few years ago, Black Flag is still considered to be the one diamond in the rough.
Taking the loved naval aspects from the third game to create a pirate-themed adventure, the fourth game at least attempted to nudge the series towards a new direction.
Unfortunately though, if you didn't like the naval combat of Assassin's Creed 3, Black Flag didn't really have anything else to offer you. The core problems of the franchise were still there in spades, and the lack of dense cities to free-run around meant that the game was stripped of the few things AC did well.
Black Flag was certainly an interesting new spin on the fledgling franchise, but at the heart of it it was still an Assassin's Creed game, haunted by all of the faults that had marred the series for years.
