Puzzle & Dragons Z + Super Mario Bros. Edition brings the popular mobile game to the 3DS for more brain teasing action.
You’re not just getting one game for the price though, you’re getting another, fully fledged Mario-themed edition at no extra cost. The two games are similar, as they’re both Puzzle & Dragons titles, but they have a few key differences that make them stand out, aside from the obvious branding and visuals.
Puzzle & Dragons is a ‘match 3’ style puzzle game, where the goal is to move orbs around the screen and set up huge combos. The catch here is that you’re actually bursting these orbs in order to attack enemies and even capture them to fight alongside you. Puzzle & Dragons Z plays out like a proper RPG, traveling around various locations and seeing the story unfold, whilst Mario plays as you might imagine, taking you through various stages and worlds in order to save Princess Peach. Both modes are a lot of fun, and the difference in visuals alone makes it worth trying out both.
It wasn’t marketed too heavily, it didn’t sell that well, and prices dropped like a rock. You can probably buy it for about £10 now, and it’s a far better experience than pretty much anything you could find on your phone.
