Bungie's Halo series featured some pretty amazing sights so to follow it up with a game set mostly within our own universe seemed an odd choice; how could they surprise and amaze us with real planets that we've already seen? Somehow, they did it. Every area of Destiny feels like an alien world in dire need of exploration; even Earth feels exciting and new in this universe. With a variety of colours mixed in with some phenomenal sci-fi architecture, each planet has a unique feel and look; even after multiple visits, the various sights and sounds continue to amaze. Honestly, it's a shame that Bungie didn't embrace the exploration aspect of their game more; with repeated visits to the same areas, the effect is lost slightly. Still, it's hard to argue that Destiny doesn't look incredible and hopefully, we'll see new planets and areas added through post-launch content. If they're as exciting as Destiny's current areas, they will be well worth the entry fee.
2. Tower Dance Parties
As a general rule, gamers aren't really known for their dancing abilities. Sure, World Of Warcraft tried it's hardest and there's been a slew of dance games designed to get more gamers dancing but generally, we've remained apathetic to the whole thing. Then Destiny came along and suddenly, all we wanted to do was dance. No doubt inspired by the words of David Bowie, Bungie gave Guardians the ability to dance and man, these guys mean business. They don't even need music; just hit right on the D-Pad and watch as your Guardian bursts into a glorious fit of outrageous disco moves. Better yet, if you're in the world's social hub, start busting a move in plain sight and Guardians will come pouring out of every orifice in the Tower to join in. It's wacky, it's silly and it's utterly insane but it's hilarious; we're still waiting for the long overdue real-life recreations.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
