9. Resident Evil Zero

Resident evil
Capcom

Coming out after REmake, Zero looked to take the graphical and gameplay elements of REmake and provide a prequel explaining the events experienced by the S.T.A.R.S Bravo Team in the Arklay Mountains.

As I said, the gameplay remained very much the same, but with an added "partner zapping" system allowing the player to control both characters, Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen. Along with that, was an item-dropping feature which replaced the item storage boxes helping to add to Capcom's belief that the game needed to be harder.

The item-dropping did end up becoming a pain in the arse, especially in times where a key is needed but you left it three carriages down and now you need to risk your life travelling a long distance, it initiated a lot more unnecessary back-and-forth than what the storage boxes did.

Overall, it's a fine Resident Evil/Survival Horror experience with a decent plot and gameplay that you're already familiar with despite that additions previously mentioned.
