The Five Nights games seem to split people right down the middle. On one side, you have the people who dont get it it just isnt scary to them, and its all just a quaint novelty that went on a bit too long. Then you have people like me, who were so terrified of the moving animatronics that they had nightmares. For those uninitiated in this particular phenomenon youre a night guard at a restaurant where the robots come alive, and they will come after you to try to kill you. Thats not the bad part. The bad part is that you cant move, and you can only watch on the cameras as they slowly, slowly get closer and closer and then BAM! Jumpscare. This game is a nightmare literally. Because you have to constantly be alert and constantly checking up on where everything is at any given moment, theres no off switch" where you can relax slightly, knowing that youre not in any imminent danger. With Five Nights, its all adrenaline all the time, and any given second could be the one where Freddie finally pops out from his hidey hole to give you a friendly death hug. It might not be for the horror purists, since there isnt much substance past the jumpscares but these games are definitely terrifying.
