15 Severely Underrated PS3 Games That Deserve A Second Chance

14. Condemned 2

Murky, visceral and grim, on the face of things Condemned 2 looked like yet another first-person shooter, only with the lights turned down really, really low. But venture into its moribund world, and you'll see that it's far more a horror/fighting game than it is a generic shooter. In the role of alcoholic cop Ethan Thomas, you battle your way through a city overrun by mass psychosis and homelessness. Sadly, the ultra-violent nature of these hobos means that the only way you can help them is by clubbing them to death with whatever blunt or sharp object you can weaponise, smashing their heads through TVs, or by any other scrappy means of survival. The melee combat in Condemned 2 is the best you'll see in a first-person game, with satisfying combos and solid defensive mechanics. The forensic, crime-solving sequences, meanwhile, put those of far more recent games to shame. To top it off, the game's oozing with dark atmosphere, terrifying moments and unsettling sound effects, making it one of the scariest horror experiences of the last generation.
