15 Video Games That REWARD YOU For Playing Badly

5. The Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth

Another roguelike, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth goes a step further than granting the player items for dying. Should you die in four particular ways having previously fulfilled certain criteria throughout the game, you'll unlock the playable character The Lost.

Usually, anyone who finds themselves intentionally trying to die has Lost their marbles, but in this instance, those who simply can't get to grips with self-preservation are rewarded with a new character.

The Lost is decidedly even more difficult to play as than the others, given they die in one hit with no way to gain health. An average or substandard player who opts to use him truly has Lost the plot.

In reality, it's not so easy to unlock this secret character, as all of the deaths must come consecutively and only after completing challenges which require skill and commitment (or an online guide).

The final furlong to obtaining him, however, is essentially a carefully orchestrated joint suicide mission.

Oh, what macabre fun.

I'm perfectly sane, or so the voices tell me. British, sarcastic, president of the European Slinky Association, have a tendency to lie when listing things about myself. 100% guilty of being a massive geek obsessed with Doctor Who, Harry Potter and video games. If you can't find me on the internet, I'm probably locked in a room playing Spyro the Dragon on my old PlayStation, or blowing everything to smithereens with a concrete donkey on Worms: Armageddon.
