15 WTF Moments In The Bioshock Trilogy
4. Elizabeth Goes On Jack's Plane - Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea
Throughout Burial At Sea, it's difficult to predict exactly how Elizabeth's story is going to conclude. On top of that, considering this was the final piece of Bioshock content headed by series creator Ken Levine, there had to be a proper end for Elizabeth that also served as a send-off for the series. Levine pulls this off by giving players an ending that brings the whole series together while still providing a final gut-punch conclusion of Elizabeth's story.
She gets shot by Atlas after giving him the code that he wanted, but he can't make any sense of it. After that, she gets a vision of herself on an airplane. She walks out and sees Jack from the first Bioshock drop a box, unveiling the phrase "Would you Kindly." This leads to her telling him the phrase, putting into motion the entirety of the original Bioshock's plot.
It wouldn't have been a proper ending without one last plot twist, and this revelation was undoubtedly a fittingly insane one. Proving Elizabeth's key contribution to the overarching story of the series' timeline, as well as offering her the opportunity to guarantee a future where the Little Sisters are freed, even if she won't be alive to see it. A heartbreaking end for a truly tragic character.
