15. Days Gone

There's a chance Days Gone is releasing to a collective shrug from the world's gaming populace, though if you're into zombie fiction, this is some World War Z-levels of horde-based fun.

Literally, Sony's Bend studio have developed a truly brilliant crowd-based game engine that allows hundreds upon hundreds of zombies to pile up against structures, move in convincingly threatening hordes and 'pour out' of doorways - all in pursuit of tearing you to pieces.

It should help in giving the world an immediate sense of threat unlike anything since the most frantic parts of Left 4 Dead, though whether there's more to this than survival and racking up body counts, we'll have to wait and see.
