16 Laziest And Ill-Conceived Pokémon Ever

6. Hawlucha - Gen VI

I'm not exactly sure if I should be more offended by some sense of political incorrectness or the fact that it's a bird with a luchador mask being passed as a legitimate excuse of a Pokémon. As I mentioned before, Gen VI has a mighty low number of new Pokémon, so there should be no issue of quantity over quality. Yet again, that doesn't seem to be the case. Hawlucha is so bizarre and nonsensical I don't think it was meant to be taken seriously at all. What were the Pokémon creators doing between Gen V and VI where all they could think of was a bird dressed as a luchador? Hawlucha does indeed look like he flew right out of a cartoon, but not Pokémon. Hawlucha seems more suited for something more campy and daffy than anything Pokémon could ever cook up. This is the sort of Pokémon that has you wondering if you even want the designers to attempt another generation. How much sillier and excessive can they become? Granted there have been Pokémon inspired by professions and various activities before but Hawlucha makes no attempt to make it unique to Pokémon. There is no blend or spin of the two worlds of animal and idea mixed together. It is just a bird with a mask on. It's a little too much that equals too little.
