16 Severely Underrated Video Games That Deserve A Second Chance
15. Bulletstorm
Remember Bulletstorm? You'd think coming out as the first game since Gears of War to be developed by Epic Games it would've had more fanfare both critically and commercially, but alas the overblown take on what was already a caricatured look at 'big armoured dudes shooting aliens' seemed to go that little bit too far for most people. They were more than missing out though, as here Epic took their tried n' tested Unreal engine, threw you into first-person and gave you access to a laundry list of combo possibilities, opening up the potential to kick dudes into electric fences before unloading a clip into another three and finishing by whipping the last over a cliff. In short, it was never trying to be anything more just than a glorious explosion of the things only video games can get away with so well, and when you throw in a bunch of action-hunk characters and a story that's an excuse to string together as many set-pieces as possible, it's still one of the finest first-person shooters out there.
