16 Video Games That Would Make Perfect Animated Movies
10. Rayman
Did you know that Rayman creator Michel Ancel was knighted by the French Minister of Culture and Communication alongside Shigeru Miyamoto and Frédérick Raynal in 2006? Not only was that the first time video game developers were honored with the distinction, but that puts Ancel and his creation in some pretty good company. There are multiple ways one could go about adapting the limbless wonder for a motion picture. The most obvious of course, would be adapting one of his many games, such as the hit Rayman 2, the more recent Rayman Origins or Legends. On the other hand, a completely original tale would offer some equally interesting opportunities, including the prospect of including Ubisoft's hit Rabbids characters, who have come a long way since debuting alongside Rayman on the Wii (including landing their own animated series on TV). That said, anyone who has played a Rayman game - particularly Rayman Origins or Rayman Legends - knows how animated this hero and his cast of friends already are. Plus, Legends features several musical numbers mixed into the gameplay almost seamlessly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhIoidHbWQs This alone would no doubt appeal to certain executives - particularly those who would love to make a killing by selling the soundtrack to the film.
