17 Classic Video Games That Must Be Remade
9. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Original Release Date: June 23, 2002
Eternal Darkness is one of the most unique and criminally under-appreciated games of the last two decades, a deliriously clever, expectation-defying survival horror game revolving around an incredible Sanity Effects gimmick, where the game will play elaborate tricks on the player to confuse them.
Some of these tricks include the game appearing to crash, the TV volume being seemingly adjusted, save data getting supposedly corrupted and so on, all which do a fantastic job of keeping the player on edge in a totally unique and unprecedented way.
How Likely Is It?: The original release sold horribly and the game's writer-director Denis Dyack has failed to get a crowdfunded sequel off the ground numerous times, so it's hard to imagine anyone wanting to bankroll a remake, sadly.
