Rightly hailed as one of the greatest video games of all time, Square Enix's time-travel RPG is equal parts charming, thrilling, emotionally resonant and smart, yet hasn't earned quite the same legacy and esteem as the better entries into the Final Fantasy franchise.

Well, a remake could change all that, giving the game's cast of likeable characters, magnificent world-building and compelling plot a well-deserved revival with cutting-edge visuals and sound.

How Likely Is It?: Again, Square Enix is all in on Final Fantasy VII remake for the near-future, and after that there's a good chance they'll end up remaking Final Fantasy VIII or IX, so don't get your hopes up, at least for a while. Maybe one day, though.
