17 Classic Video Games That Must Be Remade

13. Destruction Derby

Original Release Date: October 20. 1995

The Destruction Derby franchise has been long overdue a revival, what with its focus on the basic pleasure of using a car as a weapon.

If remade with a prime focus on online multiplayer, this could easily be a Rocket League-esque hit, because how awesome would it be for 20-or-so players to go head-to-head-to-head inside The Bowl until just one car is left standing?

How Likely Is It?: With original publisher Psygnosis now closed, there may be obstacles regarding rights ownership, but perhaps the biggest hurdle is that the series was nixed in the first place because 2004's Destruction Derby Arenas sold terribly. As such, there may not be much confidence in an audience existing for a remake of the original game.

Chalk this one up as unlikely, sadly.
