18 Best Moments From The Batman: Arkham Video Games

2. The Role Of A Lifetime

The reveal that Clayface was masquerading as the Joker all along was a moment that had our jaws scraping the floor as all the pieces fell into place and framed the picture we'd been watching the whole time without actually seeing. It all made sense.

There wasn't a single thing in Arkham City that didn't click once you knew that the Joker you've been dealing with the whole time wasn't always the genuine article. Plot twists are never an easy thing to pull off, and when they're handled carelessly they run the risk of plowing the narrative straight into a brick wall - nothing's more irritating than replaying a game with that big ol 'a-ha' moment scratching at the back of your mind and realising that the story presented to you just doesn't line up with what you know.

But that's not the case here - remember that brief exchange in the first few hours of the game where Joker chastised Harley for nearly giving everything away?

Or what about when you overheard the Joker's henchmen remarking on his 'improved' condition? Then there's the fact that his skeleton never showed up in Detective Mode. And that's without mentioning Clayface's appearance on Joker's 'party list' from the first instalment. It was staring us in the face the whole time.
