9. Outlast 2

Y'know, if you're trying to make a mark in the horror world, don't come only a few months after a main Resident Evil instalment. In fact, give it a good year or so.

Sadly, despite Outlast 2 dropping in April and being hoovered up by first-person horror fans, it's still overlooked to this day when reminiscing across the first half of the year.

And that's a huge shame, because Outlast 2 - from its stellar presentation to horrifying cult story and perfect utilisation of cornfields to hide from your pursuers - comes together like nothing else. Even Resident Evil 7 cranked up the crazy a tad too much towards its climax, whereas Outlast 2 is pure body horror spectacle any fright-fan should seek out.
