18 Best PS4 Games You're Not Playing
15. Nidhogg II
Sometimes you just need something to rekindle the delights of Street Fighter/Tekken-style one on one gameplay.
Nidhogg is literally only ever about one player vs. another (unless you want to take on the A.I.), though the game gives you a mix of balanced weapons, jumps, dodge-rolls and executions to do so. Killing your opponent triggers a victory goal a few screens away - though they'll be respawning in seconds, so you better get moving.
Quickly fights can become frenetic back n' forth rushes to claim ground, the abilities on offer being very much refined and balanced to keep things fair. Up against a short-range dagger? Swing from just out of reach with a broadsword. Contrastingly, throw that dagger and the player won't have the right type of blade to deflect it...
Put it this way: Spawning back in with a bow and arrow only to skewer your foe as they're seconds away from winning is what multiplayer gaming was built for.
