20 Best Game Boy & Game Boy Colour Games Of All Time

8. Shantae

Shantae is so colourful and the animations are so detailed that you can easily mistake it for a Game Boy Advance game. If you told somebody that Shantae was the best looking game on the Game Boy Colour they probably wouldn't argue with you.

In Shantae you play as... well you play as Shantae, as you search for the elemental stones and stop Risky Boots from creating an incredibly powerful weapon. The plot is simple but it is a decent enough excuse to explore Sequin Land.

Throughout the game, you learn different dances which allow you to transform into animals. Yeah it's a bit slow having to dance every time you want to transform but Shantae is a Game Boy game, it's not exactly home to many fast-paced experiences.

Just don't even try to find a physical copy for the Game Boy Colour.

In America, the game will cost you an arm and a leg and in Europe… well you just can't get one as it was never released there. You Americans might complain but at least you get the option to sell a kidney for the game.

Just get one of the various re-releases.
