20 Best Gamecube Games Of All Time

12. Super Mario Sunshine

NintendoNintendoIt's easy to forget now, but this game was pretty divisive when it came out. Forgoing the typical platforming action that you associate with the moustached plumber, Sunshine instead opted for more of an open-world adventure. Featuring the game changing FLUDD pack, the glorified super-soaker gave Mario the ability to fight evil paint monsters, solve puzzles and reach new heights (literally). The story-driven platform meets adventure game was a highly enjoyable and original adventure, and being given free reign to explore places like Delfino Plaza and the rest of the beautiful island made this a highly memorable and enjoyable experience. While arguably a lesser game than the Wii's Super Mario Galaxy, Sunshine's level of creativity and experimentation is something that we haven't seen in Mario since. While not the Mario game everyone expected, Sunshine is still a great game in its own right. With the Wii U's Wind Waker HD proving so popular, here's hoping that this underrated classic soon gets the same treatment.
