NintendoIn the Gamecube era, Nintendo were publishing some pretty out-there games and plastering new IPs all over the place. From Eternal Darkness to F-Zero and niché titles like Chibi Robo, there was an abundance of new IPs on the console. Yet despite this, there was only one new gaming series that fans were eagerly awaiting - and that was Pikmin. The Mario and Zelda creator's first major series since the N64 was a remarkably unique and enjoyable experience. Miyamoto's take on real time strategy was a breath of fresh air, and a highly addictive and punishing affair - and one that its sequel perfectly nailed. One of the most unique experiences on the cube - and arguably the most underrated Nintendo series of recent years - Pikmin 2 is classic through and through and still one of the most unique experiences out there in gaming. An essential Gamecube title.
