Something tells me that Father Time won't be the kindest to Fallout 4. The more we get away from that initial November 2015 release date and Bethesda's latest fades somewhat into the background, people will only take to describing it as "Yeah, it was good... but too much like Fallout 3". Such a mindset embodies a ton of former fans, who as soon as Bethesda took over from Black Isle Studios, forever lamented the fact they'd never seen a top-down survival experience done in the vein of the original two games. Taking that ethos to heart, developers InXile Entertainment forged the Wasteland series to continue off where that second title (or Fallout 3 working-title Van Buren) left off. Gameplay revolves around micro-managing every aspect of your troupe of survivors as they journey through the titular wasteland. You'll interact with a bevy of other characters, spec your own in any direction you fancy, indulge in turn-based XCOM-style combat and get a great sensation of adventure along the way. Or, to put it another way; it's the Fallout game that even Fallout will never be any more.
