20 Best Sci-Fi Video Games Of All Time
15. Horizon Zero Dawn
Guerrilla Games were best known for their Killzone series, but it is their most recent game that has garnered the most attention from both critics and fans.
Set in the 31st century, the human race has been reduced to a scattered group of tribal populations with limited access to technology and large robotic creatures have succeeded them as the dominant force on earth. As these once peaceful machines start to show hostility towards humans, an outcast hunter named Aloy, sets out to uncover her past and learn more about the machines.
The games story does a great job of exploring classic sci-fi themes about artificial intelligence in a new and interesting setting. It also explores the juxtaposition between the dangers and beauty of the world, which is further emphasised by the fact that humanity is no longer the dominant species.
Players explore the dead remains of the old world while fighting the various machines and hostile factions of the new one in this stunning open world action role-playing game.
With the game being one of the best selling PS4 games, fans will be eager to see how Guerrilla Games build upon its success with the sequel.
