Rumoured pretty much since Skyrim came out back in 2011, fans have waited (sort of) patiently for the next instalment in the Elder Scrolls series for seven years now, constantly clinging onto hope that a reveal was just around the corner despite Bethesda constantly affirming that a sixth game wouldn't be released until the developers had shipped their own new, original title.

While they certainly weren't lying about that - as they announced that Starfield would indeed be shipping first - it didn't stop them from finally confirming that, yes, The Elder Scrolls VI is coming... eventually.

When fans will actually get a chance to see the game proper is anyone's guess (after all, it's officially still in pre-production and the bulk of the team are working hard to push out the other project they announced at E3), but it still didn't stop the teaser from bringing the house down during Bethesda's showcase.

The developers are notoriously secretive about their projects, so to not only announce their next game, but the game after that, signals an unprecedented level of confidence in the future of this talented team.
