Did anybody really expect this to be good? From PlayStation Move tech demo to full-on controllable product, Until Dawn remains one of the only games to take on David Cage's narrative style and emerge victorious. By having the story highlight the hilarity of teen horror and all its sex-based gore-hungry thrills, you're then put in control of a variety of characters trying to survive the night as all manner of unseen forces begin to appear. On top of that, you'll keep flicking back and forth to a conversation with a psychiatrist played by Peter Stormare, who asks you all sorts of creepy and leading questions, Silent Hill: Shattered Dimensions-style. These answers can factor into the main game in a few subtly effective ways (especially if you tell the game what your biggest fear is), but it's in the myriad of intense 'save your friend/run for the hills' scenarios and supremely violent repercussions that'll keep you hooked until the end reveals all.
