Arriving after a delay and a TON of "Can it save the Xbox One?" questioning, State of Decay 2 opted for the "If it ain't broke..." approach.
Thankfully, it still netted Undead Labs a chart-topping debut in May, but the game is overall, more of the same.
When that "same" is an open-world zombie survival sim though, it's not to be scoffed at. Across a lengthy 35+ hour runtime you'll do everything from taking over zombie-infested homesteads to rescuing stranded citizens, going toe-to-toe with mutant Bloater boss-types to brewing up a cure for the all-new Blood Plague.
State of Decay 2 mercifully ditches its predecessor's idea of using the Xbox system clock to let things happen even when your console was turned off, meaning camp raids and actually-they're-now-a-zombie twists only happen when you can do something about it.
