20 Best Video Games Of 2023 - RANKED

6. Street Fighter 6

A refined beast of a thing, Street Fighter 6 is Capcom playing with a full deck for the first time since Street Fighter 4, being SF V's release in 2015 had them fart out a threadbare release in time for their World Tour eSports tournament, rather than finish the game for the wider populace.

Over time SF V would get put back together, but Capcom knew they had to do right, not just for the fans, but as the holders of one of gaming's most influential and known IPs of all time.

Thankfully, they utterly nailed it. Not only is SF 6's multiplayer an awesome PlayStation Home-style living arcade where you can play various Capcom titles while you wait for matches, but its arcade ladder is nicely rewarding, there's actually a story mode with fun Tekken Force-style brawling, and the whole presentation looks utterly stunning.

With so much effort put into the balancing of fighters and fighting mechanics too; walking a line between new control schemes and rock, paper, scissors trade-offs that give anyone the advantage if they deploy at the right time, Capcom continue the streak they've been on since Monster Hunter World and Devil May Cry 5 wowed in previous years.

It feels GREAT to have a Street Fighter we can champion, play with friends and master online once again.
