20 Best Video Games Of 2023 - RANKED
5. Star Wars Jedi Survivor
Shockingly bad launch states can't be forgiven, but if we're talking game of the year and the version of a title you'd pick up today, Jedi Survivor's immense positives can finally be fully enjoyed at the close of the year, unlike back in April.
In the end it took over four months of fixes and SEVEN full patche to get Jedi Survivor up to snuff.
Now, you're free to enjoy the best sequel to a new franchise since Mass Effect 2. Jedi Survivor continues Respawn's immaculate handling of the Star Wars IP, showing they're kinda the only people actually doing right by the wider universe right now, across all mediums.
Jedi Survivor knows when to have its creature-feature prequel-era stuff, its more Andor-adjacent serious beats, and its wider space opera showdowns, all weaved around immaculate Souls-ian combat. With brutal melee abilities, more lightsaber stances, a fantastic Metroidvania approach to level design and a refined Cal Kestis getting his broody middle-sequel attitude on, that launch is a shame, but Respawn are still a developer worth championing.
