10. Grimer's Is Basically Pokémon's Answer To The Greenhouse Effect

The sludge Pokémon definitely doesn't look the cleanest, but you may still be surprised to hear the full effect it has on the world around it. Grimer's movements are said to leave all manner of poisons behind, but one entry in particular paints a desperate picture for the world touched by it.

In the Silver Pokédex entry, it's explained that, wherever the Pokémon has passed, "so many germs are left behind that no plants will ever grow again." This is a mightily troubling suggestion, especially given that other entries state that Grimer are constantly growing anew from the offcuts of others.

What's worse still is the question of what this means for other Pokémon in the world. Since a number of Grass Type Pokémon grow from plants, does this mean that Grimer are killing them off before they have a chance to spawn? Is Grimer the Pokémon world's worst, most unassuming killer?
