20 Essential Gaming Sequels That Must Be Announced In 2014

17. Bioshock 4

The Bioshock franchise has established itself as one of the most intelligent and thought-provoking series of the last decade, delivering a totally unique story that's unlike anything else we've seen before. Given that Infinite was announced just 6 months after the release of Bioshock 2, we're already overdue some word on Bioshock 4, though that has no doubt been complicated by the closure of Irrational Games last month, with the rights to Bioshock reverting to publisher 2K Games. 2K issued a statement on the future of Bioshock, declaring, "The 'BioShock' universe remains a rich creative canvas for many untold stories, and we look forward to exploring the next 'BioShock' experience", so it's safe to say the series is far from over, though who will be appointed to continue it and when that will be remains a huge mystery. It's likely that 2K have been secretly scrambling a plan together ready to blow us away, and hopefully we'll hear something on Bioshock 4 before the year is out.
