20 Essential Gaming Sequels That Must Be Announced In 2014

14. Deus Ex 4

Over 14 years, the Deus Ex franchise has released three core games to date, the revelatory original, the terrible sequel Invisible War, and 8 years after that, the brilliant third game, Human Revolution. With a unanimously strong critical reception and strong sales for the most recent title, it was a given that a fourth game would be on the way, and Eidos Montreal announced late last year that such a game was in production for next-gen consoles and PC, though did not actually officially unveil the game. The next game is going to be inextricably linked to Eidos' new Deus Ex: Universe concept, which in their own words is "to create an ongoing, expanding and connected game world built across a generation of core games". The studio also commented that the game would center around "trans-humanism segregation", a rather vague turn of phrase that nevertheless has us pretty excited. Whether the game will ultimately be called Deus Ex: Universe or end up with a snazzier title remains to be seen, but given how deep Eidos appears to be into development already, this is one of the more realistic 2014 reveals on this list. E3, perhaps?
