20 Most Frustrating Video Game Moments Ever

6. Escorting Natalya - Goldeneye 007

GoldeneyeRareBecause escort missions are super-annoying, here's another one for good measure, and it's the Queen Mother of annoying escort missions. In the mostly-brilliant Goldeneye 007 for the N64, there's one section where you're tasked with escorting Natalya, protecting her while she hacks things and basically making sure she doesn't die. This would be an irritating mission even if the AI in the game were top-drawer, but considering that it's really, really not, having to babysit such a moronic character becomes tear-inducing. Natalya isn't just weak and lame, but she actively runs into the path of both your bullets and those of your enemies, as though Rare were desperate to make the level even more difficult but couldn't quite think of a logical angle. If the Internet is anything to go by, there's not a single human being in the known universe who enjoyed this lazy, poorly programmed mess of a mission.
