18. Unskippable Cut-Scene Before A Difficult Enemy - Prince Of Persia: The Two Thrones
Ubisoft MontrealUnskippable cut-scenes suck, full stop. If I've played through a game before and have no desire to re-watch a 15-minute cut-scene, the game shouldn't force me to do so, and thankfully most games these days don't. However, the annals of gaming are littered with titles that will commit the cardinal sin of placing an annoying cut-scene moments before a difficult battle, and our example comes from the otherwise awesome Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, when you have to take on the Sword and Axe Twins. The fight begins with a 30-second cut-scene of the twins strutting their stuff before the fight starts, and considering the likelihood of you dying, it's ridiculous that each time the fight restarts, you're forced to sit through this freaking cut-scene again. There's absolutely no justification for placing the checkpoint before the cut-scene rather than after it, and this truly is an example that reeks of a developer feeling the peculiar need to punish its customers.
