20 Greatest Female Video Game Characters Of All Time

13. Elizabeth (Bioshock Infinite)

When Bioshock Infinite was being previewed and shown off at games events across the globe, developers at Irrational stressed that Elizabeth, who'd be accompanying you on most of your journey, wouldn't be someone you'd have to constantly look after and micromanage. But even then, i don't think any player actually believed them. But when the sequel actually released it turned out you had to rely on Elizabeth much more than she had to rely on you. With the ability to pull much-needed items in from other dimensions that could change the structure of a combat area, many players probably would have preferred to play as the character herself. And that was only her importance in the moment-to-moment combat, never mind her significance to the overall story. The most sympathetic character in Infinite's narrative, Elizabeth's descent from an innocent damsel in distress to morally grey killer provided players with the most emotionally-charged story in a Bioshock game yet. And that's without even mentioning her brilliant turn in that title's DLC.
