Metro 2033 was a brave but flawed first-person shooter that had an incredible atmosphere dulled by buggy AI and dodgy animations. Metro: Last Light was able to address just about every problem that fans had with the original, with one of the most memorable narrative-driven FPS campaigns ever made. Like the first game, Metro: Last Light takes place almost exclusively in the metro of a post-apocalyptic Moscow, with only occasional visits to the surface. It can be a terrifying experience, although the game generally relies on a tense, oppressive atmosphere rather than cheap jump scares. This unique backdrop combined with breathtakingly good graphics and tight shooting mechanics makes for a post-apocalyptic journey unlike any other.
