18 Greatest Video Game Villains Of The 2000s

10. Kuja - Final Fantasy IX

Ask any particularly large group of people who the greatest villain in Final Fantasy history is and you'd be forgiven for thinking Sephiroth is the only one in existence. He's certainly the most iconic and memorable for a wider audience - just listen to the outcry when people realised FF VII was coming to PS4... as a PC port of the original - although it's with Final Fantasy IX that Square crafted a tale arguably better and more routed in a believable mythology than VII. Kuja certainly doesn't stand up to ol' One-Wing in terms of his presence on-screen, instead there's a far more androgynous effeminate look given to his character throughout - but in terms of playing his part as the big bad roadblock standing between you and the salvation of the free world, his spectral power and penchant for revelling in his villainous ways is exactly what you need for the endgame of these types of stories.
